Connect Four -
is bringing you a piece of super hot wax featuring James Teej’s 2008 track Super Symmetry now remixed by no other than: Wighnomy Brothers, Motorcitysoul and Patrick Bateman!

Super Symmetry was the track of the 3 originals from last summer’s hit release by James Teej, that got the most attention, therefore it was also obvious that we were going to do a remix EP of this track, especially after Robag Wruhme of Wighnomy Brothers said he wanted to do a remix. To full-end the release we also wanted to put on one of the heavyweights within the deep-house sound and contacted the Frankfurt boys Motorcitysoul, and luckily they said yes too.

Robag’s remix is a full-on deep, crazy twisted vocals and dark affair, that just keeps building, building and building, and then ends up in a break with the original vocal and melody. What else can we say than: this shit ROCKS!

Motorcitysoul (aka C-Rock and Matthias Vogt) on the other hand have taken the track into a fantastic deep-house journey, where they use small snippets of the vocal and after a long build up, they magically include the original melody. After the breakdown, they go back into the teasing groove again. Superb show-off of how to tease people! A fantastic production and in our opinion a candidate to ‘remix of the year’.

Last but not least, Tic Tac Toe label owner Patrick Bateman gives us his best work so far. Tech-house that keeps teasing you with vocal snippets and melody parts until it breaks down and unleashes with full melody and vocal galore!

is happy to welcome a new artist to our roster; Berlin based Londoner Mark-Henning, known from his releases on Freude Am Tanzen, Trapez, Einmaleins among others plus his debut album on the legendary UK label Soma Recordings in the summer of 2008.

Mark has since his birth in 1977 spent most of his life in England, but has never forgotten his German roots, and has since last summer lived in Berlin.
He has established his artist career not just through his productions – on labels such as Soma, Cynosure, Trapez, Freude am Tanzen, Foundsound, Frankie, Einmaleins or Hypercolour – but also through his worldwide performances (having played at clubs such as Fabric, Watergate, Panorama Bar, The Arches and Harry Klein to name just a few).

The 2 tracks that Mark has given us the pleasure of releasing are “S’All Good” and “Where Are You Going?” (featuring vocal by Brett Johnson & David Barker).

The style can best be described as house and techno, with a healthy dose of futuristic bleeps, wonkyness, funk, darkness, groove and deepness.
Both tracks have already proven their worth on the dance floors in Mark’s live and DJ sets through the last couple of months and recently been featured in label boss Patrick Bateman new mix series.

A reflection from the underground

Tic Tac Toe Records proudly presents the first album project on the label, featuring the two heavyweights in Danish electronic music that sets a reflective crown on their work, when Hansen & DJ Daniel the 3rd of March releases the ambient album ‘Tearjerkers’. An album, which summarizes the two long musical careers and show listeners a new and more thoughtful side of the highly respected Danish duo.

Hansen & DJ Daniel has been involved in the Danish electronic scene from the early 90ties and, despite the great success over the years maintained their connection with the underground music environment. As a duo, they have existed since 1994, initially under the name Hüebsch Originator, and since under the current alias, which led to numerous releases on such prominent labels as German Trapez, English Mosaic, Japanese Mule, Danish Multiplex – and last Tic Tac Toe.

The album offers a dark melancholy sound, and explores a wider range of their artistic abilities, leaving the listener with a picture of a duo who is on top of their career. The album is a natural extension of their previous releases, but at the same time a prove of the duo’s musical range and ballast. It is thus evident that the album is characterized by two original musical personalities, drawing on a huge back catalogue of common impression and listening pleasure from their long and wide ranging musical careers.

Tic Tac Toe Records –
gives you our last release of 2008, presenting the newcomers from Copenhagen called BLAGGER.

Blagger has been doing quite some remixes on TTT this year; Orlando Voorn, Patrick Bateman and Trentemøller has all received the magic touch from Simon Damborg and Lars Gregers who are behind the Blagger disguise. Especially the Trentemøller remix was super hot and is currently in Top 10 of Beatport minimal chart! In Jan/Feb 2009 they will have a release on Swiss label Perspective, so they are surely one to watch out for in 2009.

On this release the guys give us a slow techno burner with a very unique sound. Hard and slow is how we will describe this track (Magna Star).

First up on the remix duties are Barcelona based Oliver Henares aka Swat Squad. He has turned the track into a faster and hotter techno/minimal track, very much in the same vein as his release on TTT earlier this year.

2nd remix comes from minimal-man of the moment Delete aka Sergio Munoz from Venezuela in South America. He has made an 8-minute long minimal monster with a 3-minute breakdown. When the track gets back in action you will see the crowd with their hands in the air for sure!

Last but not least we have Big Bully & Jordan Lieb from New York, presenting us with a deep techno remix that has Bully’s vocal incorporated into the track! Quirky sounds, noises and general weirdness are the keywords here, and it works.

Here at Connect Four HQ we are more than happy to welcome Richard Rotfuß aka Richard Liapin to our roster of artists. Richard is surely no newcomer to the scene of electronic music. In 2002 he started the Afrilounge moniker together with Eduard Hartter & Markus Liefke. They have released their fantastic music on labels like Get Physical, Poker Flat, Connaisseur & 8Bit plus a few others.

In early 2008, Richard also started his own label; Genowefa Recordings.

On this release we present to you the track ‘Redskin’ in 3 different versions.

Redskin:
First up is the original from Liapin. A great house track with vocal chanting, congos’n’bongos and what else you need to get a fantastic house trip. A great drive and those lovely strings make sure you keep dancing and dancing.

Redskin (Agnès Remix):
Swiss based super producer Agnès has turned his take on the original track into a super oldschool house/techhouse journey. A superb remix, candidate for one of the best remixes this year in our book!

Redskin (Afrilounge’s Lovely String Edit):
And finally Afrilounge put their signature string sounds on overdose on their edit of the original track! It’s time to daydream again baby!
