:: THE DANISH ENTOURAGE ::
Within the bustling European electronic music scene, Denmark has long been the place to look for some of the worlds hottest new labels, producers and DJs. Despite being a country with a population that barely touches the six million mark, Denmark seems to churn out one original hot constellation after the other – all making their mark on any relevant chart or dancefloor over the past years. And supported by their peers among Djs, magazines and promoters around the world, there is definitely a consensus that something is blossoming in the state of Denmark right now.
There is something about making music for the entire world, and not just your own backyard, that seems to incite Denmarks finest talent into making something new, something special, and something for the entire planet to enjoy. From Bejing to Brazilia, and from Berlin to Barcelona, somewhere out here, right now, someone with (hopefully) comfortable shoes are raving their butts off to sounds that originate from the Scandinavian epicenter of electronic music, whether it be from a Danish label, artist or DJ.
Labels like Tic Tac Toe + Connect Four, Echocord, Tartelet Records, 3rd Floor Records and the infamous Tattoo label, artists like the world renowned Trentemoeller, the enigmatic WhoMadeWho, as well as DJs like Patrick Bateman, Dj Lab, and Mathias Masteño, Kenneth Christiansen, Barfod & Fredski, Kasper Bjørke and Mikkel Metal, are all part of a common Danish vibe that stems from the feel of having the entire world as your playground.
After a very successful and critically acclaimed off-SONAR event at the B-Hotel in Barcelona in June, :: The Danish Entourage :: will all descend upon Cologne for a another night of Danish electronic music at this years CO/POP Festival.
As a very special feature the Distortion Festival (CPH) is hosting an afterparty in their infamous Distortion Raverbus.
