Mark-Henning – S’All Good EP – Tic Tac Toe Records

Cat.: TTT 027
Format: Vinyl 12” + Digital
Release date: April 10th (vinyl) – April 24th (Beatport)
Style: Minimal/Techno

Track list (click to listen):
A S’All Good 8:25
AA Where Are You Going? 10:41

Tic Tac Toe Records -
is happy to welcome a new artist to our roster; Berlin based Londoner Mark-Henning, known from his releases on Freude Am Tanzen, Trapez, Einmaleins among others plus his debut album on the legendary UK label Soma Recordings in the summer of 2008.

Mark has since his birth in 1977 spent most of his life in England, but has never forgotten his German roots, and has since last summer lived in Berlin.
He has established his artist career not just through his productions – on labels such as Soma, Cynosure, Trapez, Freude am Tanzen, Foundsound, Frankie, Einmaleins or Hypercolour – but also through his worldwide performances (having played at clubs such as Fabric, Watergate, Panorama Bar, The Arches and Harry Klein to name just a few).

The 2 tracks that Mark has given us the pleasure of releasing are “S’All Good” and “Where Are You Going?” (featuring vocal by Brett Johnson & David Barker).

The style can best be described as house and techno, with a healthy dose of futuristic bleeps, wonkyness, funk, darkness, groove and deepness.
Both tracks have already proven their worth on the dance floors in Mark’s live and DJ sets through the last couple of months and recently been featured in label boss Patrick Bateman new mix series.

Available at all good vinyl stores and Beatport.

Mark-Henning joins the Tic Tac Toe roster!

23/01/2009

Mark-Henning

We are happy to announce that Mark-Henning, Berlin based Londoner, will do the next vinyl release on Tic Tac Toe (TTT027), coming out in a few months (March/April).

Mark is a busy man, with lot’s of international gigs, releases/remixes on well established highclass labels and so on, so we are more than happy that he decided to join the Tic Tac Toe family.

Below you can read his biography and discography while waiting for his fantastic first release on Tic Tac Toe.

London’s Mark-Henning has risen up as one of the international underground’s true players – recording for a volley of acclaimed European labels by night and slaving as a corporate whore by day. But now he has freed himself from the 9 to 5 shackles and slog of the city to concentrate on his passion for music full time – ROCK N’ROLL!

Born in 1977 to English and German parents, he has spent most of his life in England, though has never forgotten his German techno roots and has recently relocated to Berlin. Inspired by a whole range of music (from Dan Bell to Dinosaur Jr. to Ed Rush & Optical), Mark-Henning’s sound sits somewhere between house and techno, with a healthy dose of futuristic bleeps, funk, darkness, groove and deepness. His releases have found their way into the record boxes of the likes of Ricardo Villalobos, Craig Richards, Akufen, Mr C, Laurent Garnier and Richie Hawtin to name just a few. Additionally his tracks have been licensed to recent Fabric and Minus compilations – as well as acheiving airplay on radio stations worldwide.

He has established himself as a player in the scene over the last couple of years, not just through his productions (on labels such as Soma, Cynosure, Trapez, Freude am Tanzen, Foundsound, Einmaleins, Frankie, Morris Audio, Safari Electronique, Mo’s Ferry, Milnor Modern), but also through his world-wide performances – mixing up deep house, techno and everything in between to get dancefloors kicking up a sweat.

Balancing his heavy day job in London with his music wasn’t easy, but the hard work over the past few years is beginning to pay off. Mark-Henning is now a sought-after producer and remixer in the underground scene and his DJing has taken him around the world. He’s performed in the US, Canada, Japan, Russia, Australia and all over Europe – and now also holds a residency at ‘Home’ near Frankfurt in Germany. Having released his debut album on the legendary UK label Soma Recorings in the summer of 2008 to great acclaim, he’ll now be concentrating on further solo work and new collaborations, as well as touring his live PA.

Mathias Mesteño – The Casual Opportunist – (TTT-Digi-002)

Artist: Mathias Mesteño
Title: The Casual Opportunist EP
Cat.: TTT-DIGI-002
Label: Tic Tac Toe Records
Format: Digital
Release date: August 21st 2008 (Beatport)
Style: House / Tech-house

Tracks (click to listen):
01 Get A Scar (live a little)
02 Five Finger Discount
03 Emille

Tic Tac Toe Records Digital

For the second edition of our digital only series, we are proud to welcome back Mathias Mesteño aka Matt Vega after his phenomenal releases on Fumakilla and Upon You earlier this year.

Mathias is no newcomer on Tic Tac Toe. He (and his former production partner Morten Fresh) gave us the best track (Instant Corruption) on the compilation ‘Noughts And Crosses’ back in January 2006, which was released again in January 2007, this time remixed by Inaqui Marin.

Get A Scar (live a little)
First track kicks off in much the same vein as Mathias’ latest Upon You release. Chunked up beats, a horn, stabs and some vocal work… You get the idea? Super great percussive track with the noisy horn haunting you down.

Five Finger Discount
This track is pretty much lined up with the same ingredients as the first one, but here Mathias is more on the laidback side of things. A long (10 minutes) slow builder that just keeps going and going and going.

Emille
Again a long building track like ‘Five Finger Discount’, but this one more on the party side and the horn seems to be back again somehow, just more messy.
